OUR EDUCATION SERVICES

Where safety, curiosity and connection help learning come alive.

Our trauma-aware, equine-partnered education programmes support children and young people to re-engage with learning through safe relationships, nervous system regulation and hands-on, nature-based experiences. From Alternative Provision (9–16) to post-16 pathways and creative literacy support, we help learners rebuild confidence, develop essential life skills and move toward meaningful futures.

EquiSchools Alternative Provision

EquiSchools provides a structured, relational alternative provision for learners who find mainstream settings challenging. Delivered through small groups and 1:1 sessions, the EquiSchools curriculum mixes practical equine-based learning, outdoor education and life-skills development.

A strong focus on communication, regulation, resilience and social confidence ensures every learner is supported at their own pace. Progress is tracked and evidenced throughout, with a personalised pathway plan guiding next steps. The programme prepares CYP for a positive transition back into school, college or alternative routes where they can connect and thrive.

EquiCollege (16–25 Progression Pathway)

EquiCollege is a relationship-led education and engagement programme designed for young people aged 16–25 (with flexible entry from 14+) who have an EHCP, EOTAS package or who cannot access traditional post-16 education. Set within a therapeutic equine environment, EquiCollege integrates academic development, emotional regulation and life readiness.

Learners receive a mix of 1:1 mentoring, small group relational support and structured group classroom learning. Portfolio work covers functional literacy, research, debate, communication and critical thinking, aligned with EHCP outcomes and Preparing for Adulthood pathways. Regular interaction with horses supports sensory and emotional regulation, while guest sessions from industry professionals broaden horizons and inspire future aspirations.

EquiCollege nurtures autonomy, confidence and relational capacity, guiding learners toward further education, employment or supported adulthood, with progress captured through personalised learning plans and reflective portfolios.

Creative Writing Alternative Provision

Our Creative Writing Alternative Provision, delivered with children’s writer Emma Bettridge, supports literacy development through a trauma-aware, nature-connected and animal-partnered approach. Learners explore storytelling, imagination and self-expression in a calm, relational environment that nurtures emotional safety.

Sessions integrate:

Playful literacy skill-building and expressive writing

Sensory and movement activities to strengthen motor skills

Nature-based inspiration and animal interactions

Mindfulness and reflective practices

A creative portfolio evidencing progress and personal development

This pathway strengthens vocabulary, confidence, emotional intelligence and a sense of connection, supporting learners who find traditional literacy lessons overwhelming or inaccessible.
